Meet Ciaran McGee
Ciaran McGee, the Director of CJM Chartered Tax Advisers, is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.
Ciaran studied at Oxford University before training as a Chartered Accountant with a top ten firm of accountants in Northern Ireland. After later qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser, he was appointed Head of VAT at the same firm until 2019, when he set up CJM Tax.
As the changes coming with Brexit loomed, Ciaran studied for a qualification as a Customs Adviser with Chartered Accountants Ireland. Successfully attaining the Certificate in January 2021 has given him additional insights into the interaction of the new Customs and VAT rules as they come into effect in 2021.
In 2022, Ciaran completed his work in writing the first edition of Claritax Books’ new tax annual VAT 2022-23, a guide to the complexities of the UK VAT system for general practitioners and tax advisers. The latest edition, for 2023 -24, is available HERE.
Ciaran is also a frequent contributor to Taxation magazine’s “Readers’ Forum”.
Whether you have questions about VAT and Property or Construction, are worried about a HMRC VAT visit or enquiry, or just have queries about general VAT rules, Ciaran will be able and willing to offer practical and cost-effective solutions to your problems.
